One of the youngest luxury brands in America, Genesis has seen impressive success with its full lineup of sedans and SUVs with both gas and electric power. Just a few years ago, the Korean brand introduced its second SUV – the GV70 – and that 5-passenger crossover has become the best-selling model in the lineup. At this year’s L.A. Auto Show, Genesis has taken the wraps off a refreshed version with updated styling and a range of new features.

“GV70 is our most popular model in North America, and we’ve welcomed over 85,000 customers into the GV70 family in just three short years,” said Claudia Márquez, chief operating officer of Genesis Motor North America. “The newly redesigned GV70 and Electrified GV70 offers all of the utility and interior refinement of a great SUV without sacrificing the fun-to-drive character that Genesis vehicles are known for.”

While the basic look of the 2026 Genesis GV70 remains unchanged, subtle styling changes have been made to give the popular crossover a fresh look. Incorporating many of the styling cues of the recently refreshed GV80, the GV70 gets a redesigned grille with stylish, new multi-lens array (MLA) headlights. Headlights continue the signature two-line motif that is central to Genesis designs.

The GV70 Electric also gets an updated grille, mimicking the dual-weave mesh of the gas-powered variant, but in a solid form. New, wider air intakes create a more aggressive stance for the gas-powered GV70, and a similar style has the same effect on the EV. The EV also features a hidden charge port in the grille.

Adding to the fresh look are redesigned 19-inch and 21-inch wheel options.

The cabin of the 2026 GV70 gets a significant update, introducing a new 27-inch OLED display that incorporates the digital gauge cluster and Infotainment system. This gives the GV70 a clean, high-tech look, but we’re happy that Genesis has kept physical controls for quick access to climate functions and other oft-used features. There’s also volume and tuning knobs.

The Genesis GV70 was already well equipped with advanced driver assist features, and these are improved for the 2026 model year. Updates include a new steering wheel Hands-on Detection system with improvements to the lane centering while using the highway driving assist feature. The Smart Park Assist has also been improved, adding diagonal parking functionality.

Genesis will continue to offer the GV70 with two gas-powered engine choices. The base-level 2.5-liter 4-cylinder turbo puts out 300 horsepower, while the more powerful 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 puts out 375 horsepower. There’s also a new Terrain Mode, which lets the driver set the vehicle up for mud, snow, or sand.

The Electrified GV70 is expected to keep the same powertrain, which features dual electric motors that deliver 429 horsepower and an impressive 700 lb-ft of torque. For 2026, this updated EV gets the new NACS charging port along with a CCS adapter, allowing customers to charge at more than 36,000 Tesla Superchargers and DC fast chargers.
