Imagine driving a very cool new car for a distance between 9 to 25 miles, getting out and then into another very cool car for another 9 to 25 mile leg and then repeating the same routine through 23 cars in a two day period.
Welcome to the 2010 NWAPA (Northwest Automotive Press Association) Run to the Sun held recently in western Washington.? After 23 cars and more than 450 miles of smiles, here are our quick impressions of the Volvo C70.
The Volvo C70 is one of our favorite cruisers. It is solid, safe and comfortable; in fact, it has some of the most comfortable seats found in a new car.? With its retractable hardtop the C70 is actually a two for one giving owners a great looking coupe and sexy convertible in one car.?? A 227-hp turbocharged, 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine, drives the front wheels through a five-speed Geartronic transmission to produce a respectable 7.4-second 0 to 60 mph time.? Pricing starts at $40,800 including the destination charge, plus it has a few option packages that can boost the price to about $46,000. It should also be noted that the C70 is one of the safest convertibles built.
So, after driving 23 cars in two days we came up with some cars we like, some we don?t like as well and a couple we love. We hope you?ll take a test drive some of these vehicles when you are shopping for your next new car.
